The launch of The Star Performing Arts Centre has been an important milestone for the arts fraternity in Singapore.

For too long, mid- to large-sized performances have been held at makeshift venues build primarily for sports or expositions. These venues delivered poor acoustics with inadequate reverberation control, hence affecting the quality of world-class concerts.

The Star Theatre was designed to fill in this gap and take your artistic appreciation to new heights. The first of its kind in this region, this 5,000-seat purpose-built concert venue is specially designed by Artec Consultants Inc, a top New York based theatre design firm credited for iconic performance spaces such as the Sala São Paulo and the Lucerne Culture Center.

The Star will redefine the experience of artistes, technical crews and audiences alike. With top quality back-of-house support, the crew will enjoy a reception room, dance studio, rehearsal areas, ample dressing rooms and storage, as well as laundry facilities.

Our technical offices, recording studio, and digital audio and video workstations are also designed for seamless post-production work. Visiting crew will also appreciate the patch panel near the loading dock for quick and convenient connection to an outside broadcast van during ‘live’ broadcast.

With first-rate sound, lights and video systems installed at The Star Theatre, audiences will experience the full spectrum of sight and sound that is so vital to modern concerts, rock musicals and more. Impresarios and concert promoters will be delighted to find The Star a fully equipped, one-stop venue ideal for the gamut of genres.

Complemented by an excellent team of experienced operations, marketing and technical staff, The Star Performing Arts Centre is developing into an iconic and renowned arts venue in Singapore.

Information on our other exciting spaces – The Star Gallery, The Star Loft, The Star Studios and The Star Terrace – can be found here in our website as well. Together, we look forward to taking Singapore’s performance arts to new heights.
