HWASA the 1st FANCON TOUR [Twits]

HWASA of established K-pop girl group MAMAMOO is poised to delight her fans, “Twits”, in Singapore for her solo fan concert tour. CK Star Entertainment is proud to present the Singapore stop of “HWASA the 1st FANCON TOUR [Twits] ”, at The Star Theatre on 22 June 2024 (Saturday), 7PM.

Now signed to K-pop sensation PSY’s label P Nation, HWASA first debuted as a member of renowned K-pop girl group MAMAMOO in 2014. She enjoyed an illustrious journey with the group, being loved for her unique voice, vivacious personality, and unabashed confidence.

In 2019, HWASA officially launched her solo career with the release of digital single “Twit” (2019), personally participating in writing and composing. The song quickly attained widespread acclaim, scoring a revered “Triple Crown” by topping South Korean Gaon’s (now known as Circle Chart) music charts – Gaon Digital, Gaon Download, and Gaon Streaming. Additionally, it peaked at number three on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart in March 2019 and secured the 8^th position on Billboard’s “The 25 Best K-pop Songs of 2019: Critics’ Pick” list.

The accompanying music video, which till date has amassed more than 104 million views on YouTube, was also recognised, being mentioned in Rolling Stone India’s article on the “10 Best K-pop Music Videos on 2019”. HWASA’s successful solo debut earned her numerous awards in 2020, including the “Best Solo Artist Award” at the Golden Disc Awards, “Artist of the Year (Digital Music – February) Award” at The 9^th Gaon Chart Music Awards, and “Best Dance Performance Solo” at MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards).

HWASA is well-known for her fearlessness in defying norms and breaking barriers, her music centers around the topics of self-love and empowerment. The track “Maria” (2019) bears the message of “you’re already beautiful as you are”, while “FOMO” (2021) is dedicated to overcoming one’s fears. Her single, “I Love My Body” (2023), is a cheeky feel-good song about going against stereotypes and gaining self-esteem.

Not one to be defined by genres, HWASA has been a part of many significant collaborations and features. In 2020, she collaborated with singer Dua Lipa for a remix of the popstar’s hit song “Physical” (2020), where she incorporated Korean lyrics into the track. She also showcased her talent as a featuring artist in the music of renowned K-pop figures’ like PSY, EPIK HIGH, Jay Park, and Uhm Jung Hwa.

As an all-rounded artist, HWASA’s influence spans beyond K-pop, and she is a notable name in the Korean entertainment and fashion circles as well. She has been chosen for multiple brand partnerships, spanning from CJ’s Olive Young, AMORE PACIFIC’s “Rarekind”, Ottogi’s “Jin Jjambbong” and “Jin Bibimmyeon”, adidas Running, and Lotte Chilsung’s “Kaesukang”. Throughout the years, HWASA has also been invited to prestigious fashion events such as Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Diesel, and Valentino’s shows.

Her upcoming fan concert tour, “HWASA the 1st FANCON TOUR [Twits] in Singapore” expresses her desire to forge deeper connections with Twits for the first time, with the heartwarming tagline “The thrilling first meeting of ‘HWASA’ and ‘Twits’; I’ll shower my love on stage once more today”.
