Sum 41 resumes Farewell Tour, announces Singapore show in 2024!
After a previous postponement, pop punk band Sum 41 finally resumes their global Farewell Tour in 2024, including a much-anticipated stop in Singapore. Join us as we celebrate the 27 years of one of the biggest pop punk acts in the world on March 4, 2024 8pm at The Star Theatre.
In a post on the band’s official Instagram account, they wrote: “Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives. We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first. Sum 41 will be disbanding. We will still be finishing all of our current upcoming tour dates this year, and we’re looking forward to releasing our final album Heaven :x: Hell, along with a final worldwide headlining tour to celebrate. Details will be announced as soon as we have them. For now, we look forward to seeing all of you skumfuks on the road and are excited for what the future will bring for each of us. Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41.”
Formed in 1996, Sum 41 is known for their reinvigorated pop punk, energetic antics, and relatable lyrics that people of all ages can easily enjoy. Their boisterous music landed them a record deal in 1999 with Island Records and the rest, as they say, is history. They released their most famous album “All Killer, No Filter” in 2001, which features their successful chart-topper “Fat Lip” that soared quickly and reached multi-platinum status in various countries.
Sum 41 have been nominated for and won several music awards throughout the years including Juno Awards’ Group of the Year in 2003, and Rock Album of the Year in 2005. Sum 41 was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for the song “Blood in My Eyes”. From their early years to their global success now, Sum 41 remains to be among the top best-selling bands the world has ever heard.
